This project is aimed at improving the economic conditions of Latvian women in rural districts through business training programmes and consequently enabling them to obtain a Microcredit loan and start their own business to become self-supporting.

The programme consists of seminars on Starting Entrepreneurship, Developing Business Plans, Basics of Accounting and Basics of Legislation. The evaluation seminar includes presentations by the students of their developed business plans and analysis and assessment of project results.

The seminars are held in all four regions of Latvia, enabling several hundreds of rural women to attend. Several of the women having been trained at the 5-O project have formed Microcredit loan groups and thus benefit from the mutual support and self-esteem achieved from attending the 5-O training.
