Since 1989, the National Union of Moroccan Women has worked for displaced women and children in Khouribga. In 1994, local and provincial authorities agreed to construct a building for a training centre for women; and by 1996, the project could start with classes for local women as well as a kindergarten.

The project includes work with handicapped children and training of women in pattern design, hairdressing and supportive classes in hygiene, nutrition and other aspects of family care. Informal talks on relevant subjects are organised for hundreds of women, and illiterate women are given alphabetic lessons.

For motivation, prizes are given to the best participants. A legal assistant helps women solve their social problems.
